V-day
Since Valentine's day just passed a few days ago, i have a few simple question to ask everyone. Why is Valentine's day so special? Ok, you dont have to give me a lecture on why Claudius II forbid marriage or what Valentine did to be condemned to death. I've read the story in the newspapers on Tuesday. I mean, why do you need Valentine's day to remind you to love your partner? Why do you have to go the extra mile to show your affection, care, and love on this day? I think you should be kind and thoughtful everyday. You should be nice and sweet everyday. You should be caring and loving everyday. Would it be less romantic to to give a hundred roses on any other day? Does it mean you care and love her more if you give a hundred overpriced roses on Valentine's day? I just dont get the big hoo-hah about Valentine's day because the way i see it, it's just some Western commercialism tactic devised to get people to buy overpriced gifts and flowers for their partners on this day every year. Come on people, buying gifts and flowers on any day would surely give your loved ones a very pleasant surprise. I think that they'll cherish it more cause you have to admit it, people generally expect something during Valentine's day. That's how commercialised it has become. So my advise is hit them when they least expect it and see how you can make someone's day a much brighter one, but please dont blame me if it doesnt work out the way you wanted it.

I so totally agree with u Glenn!!
That's why I said everyday should be Valentine's Day. Show the ppl u love ur love and appreciation everyday!
Having a partner who ONLY buys u gifts on V day really sucks. No meaning sial.
V day is so overrated (I stil think overrated is not the appropriate word but whatever!)
hi my first time...haha like v...haha right anyway...see this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that i , terreh, am computer savvy, savvy? anyway yea i kinda agree budak but i feel most people tend to become complacent when it comes to just about anything it's not intentional but it occurs...so v day reminds us that our loved ones should not be taken for granted...plus the extra cash from my dad is goood!!
midori: overrated pun jadi la i think...hahaha
prem: why do u get money from ur dad on v day?..hmm....
wow prem comp savvy already huh? wonder y it didnt rain? hmmm...unless it rained in KL hahaha.
hey ..i totally have to agree with u! * everyday is valentine's day* that should be the way rite?
ppl tend to keep up with the joneses... girls tend to compare their bf.... and bf's end up terpaksa do smtg on v day...
hey am computer literate, ashwin!!! i get money from the old man coz he would have forgotten to get my mom a prezzie, so guess who has to get it!!! sigh so the prodigal daughter does as is asked of her, and somehow manages to keep some of the cash for herself!! muahahaha
lil sis: rite.
prem: now i see ur tactic...buy cheaper stuff and pocket the rest of the money...ish ish ish
this is where the similarity in our upbringing really shines through.
i rather my bf keep the money he may spend on grossly over-priced roses and go and get my something else, something more meaningful.
from a girl's view point, i would think that the time spent together and the things that he does means more than some flowers/chocolates/gift that he gives.
on a side note, he got me a watch last saturday (both for valentine's and for my b'day), swatch irony, something like that one u got for somebody.
my first watch in over 10 years. i'm blessed.
i'm sure mine nicer...muahahahaha!
hahhaa...it's great to have someone who makes your 365 days like valentine's day. however, don't u think it will be kinda monotonous abit...that's why they go the extra mile to add some spice into the relationship on this very day. I agree that u don't have to spend money on overpriced roses, chocolates and etc as it's the thoughts that counts, there are many other ways to make the day special. it is up to ur own imagination on how to make it a special day between the two of u. then again, everyone has different views on things...=)
